Kroondal is a village situated in North West Province of South Africa with a large German speaking community. It lies on the N4 road.

Marikana, also known as Rooikoppies, is a town in the Rustenburg local municipality, Bojanala Platinum District Municipality district in the North West province of South Africa. The name Rooikoppies means ‘red hills’ in Afrikaans.

Coligny is a maize farming town situated next to the railway line between Lichtenburg and Johannesburg in North West Province of South Africa. The town is situated c. 27 kilometres south-east of Lichtenburg.

Phokeng is a town in Rustenburg of the North West province of South Africa. It is the capital of the Royal Bafokeng Nation. Historically, it was known as Magatostad among white South Africans

Wolmaransstad is a maize-farming town situated on the N12 between Johannesburg and Kimberley in North West Province of South Africa. The town lies in an important alluvial diamond-mining area and it is the main town of the Maquassi Hills Local Municipality.
